Showcase your artistic talent here at Greensboro Urban Ministry by designing and painting one or more of four inspirational murals on our campus!
Individuals and/or groups are invited to participate in our Shelter Beautification Contest! Pick one of the areas below or submit a design for all four:
Mural designs will then be scored on the merits of creativity, inspiration, and message. Two designs will be chosen in the spring and two in the fall. Contestants should submit a colored drawing of a proposed design by April 1, 2020 for the first round of the contest. Designs can be submitted until August 14, 2020 for the second round.
Judges will review and score designs. The first round of winners will be announced by April 13, 2020 (for two walls). The second round of winners will be chosen on August 26, 2020. Contest judges will consist of shelter staff, board members and current guests.
To submit a drawing for consideration, please mail the design to Chris Ringuette, GUM, 305 W. Gate City Blvd., Greensboro NC 27406, or email a scanned copy to email@example.com. Questions can also be sent to that email address.

Artists must submit concepts with the full contact information of the artist and the number of days you estimate it would take for you to complete the mural.
Submission deadlines are April 1, 2020, and August 14, 2020.
Artists may submit mural concepts for more than one wall.
Artists may submit more than one concept for a wall.
Artists must submit each proposed concept separately.
Artists will be awarded no more than $100 in material costs.
Artists may only submit their original concepts.
Artists are encouraged to submit concepts that do not include any recognizable characters from movies, TV, or fiction.
Artists must submit a sketch of the mural concept(s) in .jpg or .pdf format only.
Mural art concept uploads are limited to 3MB in size.
