THE GUM FOOD PANTRY provides emergency groceries Monday – Friday from 9:30 am until 3:30 pm.

NEED FOOD ASSISTANCE? You do not have to make an appointment to receive food. Come to 305 W. Gate City Blvd., Greensboro NC 27406. Bring a photo ID and a copy of your SS Card or official documentation containing your SS# or ITIN (Your SS card or another official document such as taxes, etc that shows your SS#). Be prepared to complete an application. Community members can receive groceries twice per month. The amount of food received varies based on the # of people in the household. The Greensboro Urban Ministry Food Pantry has provided food for people at risk of hunger in Guilford County for over thirty years. Food insecurity in Guilford County is a serious problem with over 100,000 people living with food insecurity.

The GUM Food Pantry provides emergency groceries to community members struggling to access nutritious and adequate amounts of food neccesary for a healthy diet.

Faith groups, corporations, schools, civic groups and social groups hold food drives throughout the year to help stock the shelves of the Food Pantry. GUM has significant partnerships with local grocery stores. Every week fresh meat, produce, and perishable food items
are picked up from Target, Lowes Foods, Food Lion, Sprouts and Costco. Over one million pounds of food is collected annually.

If you have food to DONATE – please go to 1002 S. Eugene Street, Greensboro, NC 27406 (Back of building on Gate City Blvd.). When you enter the back parking lot – take the food to the loading dock on the left.  Food can be acccepted Monday – Friday from 9:30am until 3:30pm.

Shop to Help Stop Hunger!
When you are buying groceries you can do a lot of good by bringing home something to donate. Please select one or more canned or non-perishable food items such as:

Protein Sources
• Tuna, Salmon, etc.
• Beef Stew, Spam, Corned Beef
• Peanut Butter, 18 oz.

Vegetables
• Greens, e.g. Turnip, Mixed Vegetables
• Peas (green)
• Tomatoes, Corn, Green Beans

Fruits
• Peaches, Pears, Fruit Cocktail, Applesauce

Other Items
• Soups
• Sugar, 2 lbs.
• Dry milk
• Oatmeal, 18 oz.
• Macaroni & cheese
• Bags of dry beans
• Rice, 1 lb. or larger bags

Infant and Baby Care
• Diapers, all sizes
• Formula
• Baby food

Dietary Supplements
• Ensure
