From December through March, Greensboro Urban Ministry works with several congregational partners to offer additional shelter beds during the winter. The Weaver Extension (WE) Program provides shelter for men and women experiencing homelessness. Guests work with case managers to focus on improving their situation by connecting with community services, obtaining stable housing, and seeking employment to lead to self-sufficiency. Volunteers at WE sites provide a welcoming environment for our guests and some become passionate advocates, raising awareness of hunger and homelessness within their congregations and the wider community.
